The Visiting and Caring Committee meets on the first Wednesday of every other month starting in January of each year. (six times a year)
The members of the committee each month visit homebound members and those residing in nursing homes. Also, a rose is delivered to all members who are 80 years old and older on their birthdays. Committee members choose the names of those they wish to visit during the two-month period.
Each year after Easter Sunday, tulips that grace the altar area are delivered to those who are visited by the committee members for that month. Likewise at Christmas, after the poinsettias have adorned the altar area for the church services, they are delivered to those being visited that month by committee
In addition to the monthly visits, the committee sets up the “Angel Tree” in the Welcome Center in November with tags to be taken by members who wish to purchase a gift for a needy child from newborn to 12 years of age. These tags are provided by The Salvation Army and the gifts are distributed by them.
There are currently ten members on the committee and we would welcome anyone who would like to share a kind, uplifting, friendly visit to our mostly senior members. We always hope our visits are a blessing to them, but often times we find they are an inspiration and blessing to us!
If you are so moved to share God’s light and love to others, please reach out to Deb Stought, chairperson, at 717-243-9594 or email
